Hello! I’m Jessica. I’m a digital designer attending Pierce college. For as long as I can remember, I've always loved creating things. One of my earliest childhood memories is of telling my father that I wanted to be like Spencer from iCarly because he was an artist. For the majority of my life, I was self-taught in learning design up until I started going to Pierce College. At Pierce I’ve developed a variety of new skills, techniques and design trends. I hope to utilize these skills in my work life.
To me, creation is one of the fundamental pillars of humanity. The creation of fire, the creation of tools, the creation of all modern technology seen today. After giving myself some time to self-reflect, I knew that whatever I did in life, I wanted to always be creating something. I went into digital design as it’s allowed me to develop a broad network of interwoven skills that can all be used to elevate the final product. It has opened many new avenues creation, some of which I had not considered prior.
As of now, I have developed skills in painting, typography, layout, graphic design, UX/UI design, photography, videography, animation, 3D modeling, and making prototype and functional apps. I have learned how to utilize Adobe programs like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop as well as 3D modeling programs like Blender, and Maya. I have experience coding accessible websites in HTML and CSS through Adobe Dreamweaver, much like this one.
